品种描述
Height: 1.35m-1.40 m for mares; 1.37m-1.52m for males. Color: Usually gray, bay, dark bay, black, often mealy, sometimes buckskin, bay dun, often with light hooves. It is taller than the Karabakh, which it resembles. It has a short head with a wide forehead and slender nose; a rather thick, compact neck; broad chest; massive body; and long croup. An unusual feature is a peculiar lengthwise fold on the tongue that gives the impression that the tongue is forked. Distribution: Notably the Ganja-Kazakh and Shaki-Zagataia Regions in Azerbaijan. Its character is not always reliable; it is sometimes nervous, but good individuals are simply very energetic. It is an agile horse, has good endurance, and can carry a large load. It has good health and fertility, and is resilient for life in themountains. Some individuals are natural amblers. It is suitable for saddle and light harness. This native horse has sometimes been listed as extinct; it is actually quite rare.
繁育历史
A descendant of the ancient native horses of Azerbaijan, and notably of the Karabakh, the Deliboz was developed at the end of the eighteenth century through crossings between the Persian Arab and the Turkoman (now extinct). Itreceived influence from the Tersk and Arabian breedsin the middle of the twentieth century.
