Height: 1.40m-1.50m. Color: Light gray, chestnut, bay, rarely black; all colors are possible. This elegant and solid horse is the Eastern type, similar to the Persian Arab: it has a straight head with a wide forehead, large eyes, a sloping croup, and hard hooves. There are four types of Kurdi: Jaf, Afshari, Sanjabi, and Kalhor. Distribution: Mainly lran, the mountainous region of Kurdistan (northwestern Iran, southeastern Turkey, northeastern lraq, northern Syria). The Kurdi is a lively and very resilient horse, with good endurance. It is perfectly adapted to life in the desert and mountain regions of lran.
