品种描述
Height: 1.25m-1.4 m; 1.35m on average. Color: Bay, dark bay, black; it often has a dorsal stripe and primitive markings. The Lehmkuhlener is compact; it has a head with a straight profile; a broad chest; and a powerful, sloping croup. Its mane and tail are thick, and particularly long in stallions, as sexual dimorphism is very clear in this breed. Distribution: Mainly in the Schleswig-Holsteinregion, Germany. Robust and hardy, it lives a long life, has good health, and is fertile. It is a good jumper. Versatile, the Lehmkuhlener is suited to both saddle and harness. Its breeding was discontinued in the1950s. There are only around twenty members of thisvery rare breed.
繁育历史
It has existed since 1913, and is the result of crossings between native mares, notably Dulmens, and an English stallion, probably a Dartmoor.
