Height: Under 0.90m, around 0.50 m-0.80m. Color: There is a great variety in coat color, including bay dun, spotted, and pinto. This is the English miniature horse. It weighs only around 50kg. It is well proportioned, it has a small head, slender legs, small hooves, and a silky mane and tail. Distribution: England. These small animals are intelligent, gentle, and docile, and they learn quickly. They are rustic and live a long time. Among the various miniature horses, the Toy Horse is well adapted to the European climate. It is stronger than the Falabella, although it is often smaller. It is a pet that has the same specific needs of all horses: a need for space, grass, company, care, maintenance of its hooves, and so on. It is too small to carry a rider other than a very young, light child, though one must still be very careful of its back; but it is sometimes used in exhibitions or shows, with a small, very light cart, or with long reins. Miniature horses are bred exclusively as pets, so they form a world slightly apart and have very devoted fans. Thus there are very few of them.

Miniature animals have long been popular in England, beginning in the sixteenth century, at first to entertain the children of the nobility. The Toy Horse has the same ancestors as the American Miniature, that is, the small Shetland, Gotland, Dartmoor, and Welsh. It is the result of a long selection for size and physical harmony. It is sometimes crossed with the Falabella.
