普法尔茨-阿尔登马
品种别名
- 【德语】Pfalz-Ardenner Kaltblut(普法尔茨-阿尔登马)
品种描述
Height: 1.52m-1.62m. Color: Bay, chestnut, black, light gray, roan. It resembles the Ardennais, but is lighter. It has a rather small head with a wide forehead; small ears; broad chest; and a long, muscular croup. Distribution: Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The Pfalz-Ardenner is gentle, calm, energetic, and confident. It is a good carriage horse and is also enjoyed for recreational riding. This native breed is very rare; it was on the brink of extinction in the 1970s. Its numbers are still very small: only some twenty broodmares, and fewer than a dozen stallions. The conservation efforts undertaken to save it should nevertheless enable it to be relaunched in the coming years.
繁育历史
The breeding of the Pfalz-Ardenner began in 1900 with the crossbreeding of Ardennais, Comtois, and Belgian horses with local mares. Like all draft breeds it suffered from mechanization. The breed has such small numbers that, to save it, crossings are currently still authorized among horses issued from certain breeds (Ardennais,Breton, Comtois, Swedish Ardennais) if they correspond perfectly to selection criteria.
