品种描述
Height: 1.32m on average. Color: Bay, dark bay, chestnut, gray, black. The Shan looks like the Manipur but is taller. It has a delicate head with a straight profile, unobtrusive withers, a broad chest, rather straight shoulders, a sometimes long back, slender legs, and small hooves. Distribution: Shan state of eastern Myanmar (near China, Laos, and Thailand). The Shan is always docile, but sometimes unpredictable. It has good endurance and is robust, adapted to the mountains; however, it is not very fast, and its gaits are not among the most comfortable. This is a small, versatile horse, especially good for riding and as a pack and harness horse. It was once used as a polo pony, primarily by colonists. Because of its size, it can make a good mount for children. This local breed is doing fine.
