品种别名
- 【英语】National Spotted Saddle Horse(美国花斑骑乘马)
品种描述
Height: 1.50m-1.63m. Color: Always pinto, the hooves are always light, sometimes with black stripes. It looks like the Tennessee Walker, but is smaller and stockier. It has a slender head with a straight or slightly convex profile; large eyes; small ears; a high-set, muscular, very slightly arched neck; sloping shoulders; a short back; and a slightly sloping, rounded croup. The tail is set high, and the hair is rather thick. Distribution: Tennessee, United States. This is a docile, sure-footed horse endowed with supplemental gaits (such as the rack or running walk); it has the amble instead of the trot. This saddle horse is suitable for show jumping competitions, dressage, trekking, and recreational riding in general. The breed is doing well.
繁育历史
This recent breed, developed since 1979, was created by crossing horses of pinto type with lberian ancestry with the Morgan, Standardbred, and Tennessee Walker, but also with Mustang, Paso Fino, and Peruvian horses. There are several registries for them, and the animals must present the right type, the right color, and supplemental gaits.
