This very recent breed is still being developed, its origins dating only from the1990s. The goal is to produce a competitive Swedish sport pony able to compete against other breeds of saddle ponies. It is the result of crossings among theThoroughbred, Connemara, New Forest, Dartmoor, Welsh, Gotland, Anglo-Arabian, and other horses.
