繁育历史
The ancient Turkoman, which has influenced many other horse breeds, is extinct, but there are still horses called by this name in Iran. The lomud and the Akhal-Teke are sometimes also called Turkoman horses, the name designating a type of Eastern horse different from the Arabian. Like them, the modern Turkoman descends from those ancient Turkoman horses. But the latter has sometimes been crossed with English Thoroughbreds in order to increase its speed, and So one sometimes speaks of the "Turkoman Thoroughbred." Herds have been returned to the wild.
