品种描述
Height: 1.23m on average. Color: Variable. Often bay, chestnut, black, gray, light gray. It has a narrow chest; a straight back; short, very strong legs that tend to have the close-set hocks characteristic of mountain horses; a short, sloping, dished croup; low-set tail; and hard, solid hooves.The hair of the mane and tail is thick and abundant. Distribution: Throughout Bhutan, especially in the central regions. The Yuta is efficient and bold in difficult terrain, endowed with sure-footedness. Well adapted to life in high mountains, it is undemanding and easy to keep. It is essentially a pack horse popular among the Bhutanese, carrying loads of 40-80kg. Mares are also used to produce mules. This is the dominant breed in Bhutan; it suffers less from competition with mules.

This is a purely native horse of Bhutan that one encounters frequently since it is very popular among the local population.
